1. Unplug or disconnect the dryer.
2. Open the control panel and remove the drum.
3. Clean the damaged felt carefully and slowly with a sharp blade, then remove the gasket.
4. Carefully and slowly clean the edges of the drum with a sharp blade to remove the old adhesive.
5. Open the drum seal dc97-07618a and locate the stitched black material. Separate the felt grey from the black material (note: there may be residue or adhesive sticking the two parts together, a knife can be used to help separate them, taking care not to damage the dryer gasket). With the black part of the gasket facing outwards, install the gasket on the edge of the drum to ensure it is installed correctly. You may need to use clips to help hold it in place.
6. Apply the adhesive. When applying the adhesive you may need to wear gloves and apply it carefully. Make sure the grey part of the washer is free of any adhesive.
Note: If you are using clips, you can apply the adhesive by securing the clips in the 12 o'clock, 3 o'clock, 6 o'clock, and 9 o'clock positions and applying the adhesive to the quarter areas between 12 o'clock and 3 o'clock, 3 o'clock and 6 o'clock, 6 o'clock and 9 o'clock, and 9 o'clock and 12 o'clock in that order. After applying the adhesive, wait 60 seconds to realign the gasket and apply pressure for a tighter fit. Adhesive may drip or run when applying adhesive. If this happens, be sure to wipe it off as it may cause noise or vibration when using the dryer.
7. Leave the drum for 24 hours after applying the adhesive. Afterwards, remove any excess glue that may be left on the drum.
(If you are using clips, remove the clips and clean up any excess glue.)
8. Finally, put the drum back and close the control panel.
